First the group worked with Drama Practitioner Lucy Fiori, to develop and act out short plays in response to their favorite paintings. The group re-imagined what might have been happening in these paintings, using movement based games, and as time went on, they worked in small groups using dramatic techniques to create short plays. They later shared these new found skills with the rest of the school, by performing at a whole School assembly.

While all this was going on they also took part in an Illustration Masterclass with Illustrator Kate Pankhurst, (of AS Creatives). The young People, developed their visual communication skills, working together to create the Fantastic Story Cubes, which you can see narrated videos of Below.

Lastly the Class worked with Neil Winterburn, to develop an video performance that would capture the great work and Creative Thinking that had gone into the project.

The young people worked incredibly hard in their groups, taking on rolls such as cameraperson, director, scriptwriter, and set designer and more..

In three days they....
-Made Stop Frame Animation titles to their films.
-Used the Story Cubes that they had made with Kate Pankhurst, to create short films telling the whole story of their plays.
-Reinterpreted scenes from their plays as films, adding amazing lo-fi special effects using plastic cell frames to superimpose their illustrations into their performance.
-On their last day with Neil, the young people also learned how to turn their illustrations into interactive games, using Scratch.
